God uses The Table food bank in Huntsville to meet many local needs. It’s our privilege to participate in God’s work by supporting local ministries like The Table, especially when it is so cold outside this time of the year.
Coming up, there’s a special opportunity for you to support The Table. Saturday, February 28 is the Coldest Night of the Year walk, and we are participating as a church.
As we walk together that evening, God will be reminding us of those in need. But there are many other ways to join in as well:
- Pray – for the many that depend on The Table, and for The Table itself, that God meets their needs, and that God uses us to help meet those needs
- Walk – join our team walking together, whether on the 2km loop, or the 5km loop, and let your friends know as you encourage them to support the good work of The Table
- Volunteer – though many walk, many others are needed to make the evening possible, you can volunteer as a greeter, or be popular serving hot chocolate to those completing the walk
- Give – the volunteer hours and donations of food and supplies that go into The Table are hugely valuable, but those who are stewards of God’s money can also give financially.
When we pray, walk, give, or volunteer, we are sharing the love of Christ with the hungry, hurting and homeless in our community.
